Outasight Replacement Curtain Update

Outasight have forwarded the following message regarding replacement curtain which have been out of stock for quite a few months now:

We are very sorry to inform you that Outasight “replacement curtains” will not be available for
dispatch until W/C 17-6-2013 to meet both current and future orders for replacement curtains

"We can confirm that from W/C 17-6-2013 we shall have adequate stock to meet all existing
orders and any future orders for replacement curtains. The delay in supplying replacement curtains has been due our  nominated curtain producer/supplier having experienced:

1. Production machinery failure which after extensive both “timely and costly repairs” still did not
function and had to be replaced with new production machinery

2. New replacement production machinery which after lengthy specialist  manufacture,
installation and commissioning did not function correctly which in turn caused further delays.

3. As you are aware the “curtain material” is specialist  “Coated and Impregnated” and thereafter “
Pleated” and finished to meet the stringent specification required of the finished Outasight
product and it was the specialist “Coating  and  Impregnating” production machinery that had to
be replaced (and this specialist curtain treatment could not be completed by any other third party
producer/supplier) which in turn not only delayed our company orders but also delayed many
other companies orders.

4. Our standard factory lead time on orders was 6/8 x weeks from receipt of orders and this had
been extended (due to the above) to 18/20 weeks up to July and thereafter factory lead time will
revert back to the standard 6/8 weeks.

5.On receipt of the curtain material at our production unit in Doncaster the material will be hand
cut to size, punched, eyelets fitted, sewn and velcro applied, packaged  and thereafter
despatched.

We were not in a position to give you exact despatch  dates for “replacement curtains” until
recent receipt of confirmation of supplies from our producer/supplier.

We apologise for the delay and  hope the above explains the present and future position relating
to the supply of Outasight “replacement curtains”

New - Sparkle Effect Shower Panels

Two new sparkle effect shower panels are available via our website. Neptune Black Sparkle and Neptune White Sparkle are 1m wide panels made from PVC. The panels are tongue and grooved so that if your shower is wider than a metre or you wish to fit the panels right around the room they can be slotted together without the need for a joining strip.

The panels have a high gloss finish and would be a stunning addition to any bathroom or shower room - see our website for more details on these shower panels

Panels Samples - Postage Delays

Apologies to anyone who is still waiting for our Panel Sample Packs ordered towards the end of last week and over the weekend. Due to the heavy snow, postal deliveries and collections have been severely affected so the packages are taking 3-4 days longer than usual to arrive. It looks like this will be the last day of snow here so things should be back to normal by the weekend.

Largo Panels

Largo panels are the original 1 metre wide shower panels that we added to our inventory last year. These panels are still available but they are no longer held in stock at the dispatching warehouse so delivery of these items takes a few extra days - we would suggest allowing 10 days for delivery (and as always we do not recommend that you book tradesman or time off to complete any work until the panels have been delivered to you and checked - just in case!)

Neptune Panels - NEW

We have just added a new range of large, waterproof, pvc panels to the website. At 1 metre wide Neptune panels are able to cover the whole side of most shower cubicles without the need for any joins. If you have  a very large shower cubicle or if you wish to cover all of the walls your bathroom with these panels there is no problem as they are tongue and grooved on the edges and slot together to give you a continuous waterproof surface.

The panels are made from a hollow section pvc but the construction is much heavier than our standard panels so they should prove to be very robust in general use - but being heavy they are not really suitable for use on ceilings.

There are four colours in the range at the moment. Frosty White above left (only just visible, sorry) is a bright white panel with a frosty pattern in the design. Very attractive and ideal for keeping a shower area light and bright. It looks like plain white from a distance but up close you can see the frosty effect which we think looks much better than a plain boring white finish. Unfortunately it is very difficult to try and capture this on photos and scans but you could order a sample of this as part of our sample pack - click here for more information

Neptune Pergamon and Neptune Grey Marble are both light, marble effect panels. The Pergamon has both grey and beige colours running through it while the grey is just that - grey! (but ideal if you want to keep your colour scheme as neutral as possible). Black Marble is a striking design. It could be used around the whole bathroom (if you are brave) but more usually it will be used to provide a dramatic statement inside a shower cubicle with lighter colours used outside the shower to highlight the contrast.

There are two new colours scheduled to be added to the range hopefully by the end of the month. These will be slightly more expensive but will be worth it as they are extremely attractive (and popular) black sparkle and white sparkle finishes. More details to follow as soon as we get them.

Vicenza - change of pack size

Vicenza  - our budget range of waterproof wall panels - has had a change of pack size.

Previously these were sold in packs of 5 but the new consignment has turned up from the manufacturer packs in the more usual 4's. This means a pack covers 1m wide whereas previously this would have been 1.25m and should prove a little more flexible when calculating how many panels you require for your room.

Bali Grey Panels Discontinued

Bali Grey panels have been discontinued by the manufacturer, Decos.

These panels were originally made as a special order for a large contract that was subsequently cancelled. The batch was sold off and proved to be very popular. The manufacturers ran another batch but have now decided not to run it again so no further stock will be available of this design.

This is a real shame as Bali Grey has been one of our customers' favourites since it was introduced. There is, however, a very similar alternative product in Spaceline Silver Grey.

We are hoping to add a new panel as an alternative to Bali Grey in the very near future - check back here for details or contact our sales office on 029 20560949

Replacing A Damaged Wall Panel

A customer recently asked us if it is possible to replace a damaged panel without having to remove all of the other panels on the wall. It is possible to replace a panel in-situ but it can be a bit fiddly. This solution only works for hollow section pvc cladding - it does not apply to rigid laminate panels.

Remove the old panel by cutting in into bits on the wall and removing it and any adhesive to leave a smooth surface. The replacement panel must then be cut down its length on the back to enable it to bend. The panel is then bent out into a curve and sprung into place.

If the tongue or groove snags on any hidden protrubences they will need to trimmed off or the obstructions removed (a small piece of panelling can be used to slot into the existing tongue and groove to highlight their position). Once you are confident that the new panel fits it can be stuck in place.

The biggest problem faced is trying to match the panel as there can be variations between batches which can be considerable if the panels have been in place for some time. If this proved too problematic the alternatives are to panel the whole wall with new panels or if the panels cannot be matched you can panel the whole wall with a contrast colour to make a feature wall.

New Bathroom Ceiling Panel

We have recently added a new panel to our range - Belmont Grey Ash:

This is a white woodgrain effect panel available in two lengths: 2.7m and 5m. Its lightweight construction, matt finish and availability in a choice of lengths make it ideal for use on a bathroom ceiling but could work equally well on bathroom walls or inside a shower cubicle as it is totally waterproof. The woodgrain effect is a printed finish so the panel is smooth and easy to wipe over. The above image shows Belmont White Ash used in conjunction with Decos Mosaic wall panels in Glacier Grey and Decos Coving Trim.

Using uPVC panels on a bathroom ceiling has many benefits over more traditional methods. Paint, plaster, texturing compounds or timber finishes are all susceptable to mould problems which can require extensive maintenance is not cured. Our ceiling cladding products are warm to the touch and waterproof so they do not allow mould to grow. Couple this to their good looks and easy to installation and you have the perfect solution to any problem bathroom ceiling.

The panel is 2400mm high x 120mm wide and is constructed from a core of lightweight foam sandwiched between two layers of laminate. This makes them easy to handle and manoeuvre into position. The attractive marble pattern has a high gloss finish.

Celupanel Availability

The availability of the Celupanel offer we were running has been severely affected by a recent break-in at the distributors warehouse. All of the Nova and Vermont panels were taken but there is still stock left of the Pink Marble and a very small quantity of the Black Marble left.

These stocks were a one-off deal so they will not be available again but the distributors have added a new low cost range which we will be adding to the web site soon.

Outasight Price Increase

We have had to increase the price of the Outasight concealed shower curtain system.

We absorbed several previous small increases, we did not increase the retail price with the VAt change at the begining of the year and have held the price for as long as possible but we now have had no option but to put the price up.

We still feel this provides great value for money as the Outasight is a very well engineered bit of kit and does the job perfectly.

Full Width Shower Panels

We will shortly be adding a new range of 1 metre wide upvc panels to our range.

Many customers request wider panels as they are looking for a wall system with no joins. Until now they would usually have to opt for one of the wood-based system, such Showerwall, but now there is a upvc alternative.

We have seen the new panels and are very impressed. Like the rest of our upvc panels they are of a hollow construction but the large panels are much more solidly constructed with heavy guage upvc (they would be too heavy to use as a ceiling panel).

We will post more details here as soon as we add them to our web site.

Cheap Wall Panel Alert!

Our importers have a large quantity of Celupanel waterproof wall and ceiling panels that they want to move quickly so we have put a special offer up on our website.

This is an attractive range and a very attractive price - with the cladding starting at just £5.75 per panel at the time of posting.

Unusually they are sold in 5's rather than 4's but they still offer superb value for money, even with 5 in a pack they are cheaper than virtually all of our other panels.

We are cannot offer any guarantees about the long term availability of these panels so we would recommend they are bough on a "when it's gone it's gone" basis and make sure you have enough to complete the job.
